      Trans is such a bold movie by Anwar Rasheed.  I got the feel that the movie would have faced a lot of criticism if it was made in Tamil.  Fahadh has done an outstanding job in this movie as the protagonist.

The movie begins in Kanyakumari where Viju(Fahadh) is a Motivational speaker who also works as a waiter.  He has a mentally unstable brother who commits suicide(their family has a history of suicides, their mother also committed suicide before). Looking at Vijus videos, he was called for an interview by Solomon Davis(GVM) to work as a Christian pastor and perform orchestrated  miracles. Due to the financial condition of Viju, he accepts the offer. He is trained by Avarachan(Dileesh Pothan) and he also christens him as Paster Joshua Carlton(JC).

(The business mafia beautifully targets a mentally unstable person who has lost his mother and brother to suicide and fighting hard to make ends meet and present a carrot infront of him. Also they make him accept that there is no way back from here)

As a team they organise many meeting and fool people in quest for money. Over a period of time, they earn millions of money and also paster Joshua Carlton earns the trust of people that he is a miracle man who can treat illness with his prayer and there wont be any necessity for hospitals. During a TV interview, Mathew Varghese(Shahir) tries to bring out the truth and tricks pastor JC, inturn JC outsmarts Mathew and strengthens the belief from people.  Mathew goes to the meeting to rip JC again, JC was upto it and again outsmarts him. Since JC didnt wait for their boss to permit regarding the interview, Solomon and his partner hit JC badly and he gets hospitalised. While the boss were trying to replace JC, JC makes a miraculous recovery and demands 80% profit.

(This part of the movie is highly sensitive as it targets one relegion and the mistakes(?) that they all do to earn money in the name of god is exposed.  The Director has to be appreciated for the guts he had and also as a producer, he had the guts to invest 10 times money of what it would take a regular malayalam film.)

Since the boss has a doubt on JC whether he is really mentally ill or is he acting.  To find out, he appoints a girl named Esther Lopez(Nazriya Nazim).  She was instructed to move closely with him as his secretary and find what was JC up to. She becomes close to him and finds out that he is mentally unstable and reports it to the boss.  She is sacked immediately and JC is made to believe that no one called Esther actually existed and it is his imagination.

(It looks like a usual business operation where the boss finds the reality by hook or crook. It helps him to device a plan to eradicate JC)

A Poor person named Thomas(Vinayakan) who believes in JC and his miracles, keeps visiting to all the gatherings and has complete trust on the pastor.  His daughter is very sick and is in death bed.  His wife insists on taking her to hospital. Thomas refuses it and wants to wait for the miracle that god will create.  He even calls pastor JC regarding it and JC instills more faith in him.  Rather going to the doctor, Thomas goes to buy holy water recommended by JC.  On his return he sees his daughter dead.  After the final rites, he wants to take revenge and goes and meets JC where he points fingers on Solomon and Issac.  Thomas kills him.

(This is the most sensitive part of the movie as how poor people are made to believe in god and in the process loose lives because of not going to hospital.  It is a great eye opener to many people who still live their lives blindfolded. But hats off to the Diretctor)

Viju is acquitted due to his mental state.  He learns that Esther is indeed  a real person and goes to Amsterdam in search of her. The film ends as they both unite.

(Special mention about the acting of  Fahadh Faasil as he just lived each and every moment of the movie which is very very difficult.)

    Sillu Karupatti is an Anthology Genre movie comprising of 4 parts.

1. Pink Bag
    The story begins with boys picking up usables from a dump yard. Main cast Rahul has a fantasy towards a Pink colour bag that comes everyday to the dump yard. One day he sees a girl's photo(Sara Arjun) in it and develop a liking. One day the girl misplaced her ring and it comes to the dump yard which the boys picks up. He realises the worth of the Ring and wanted to return it. In this process he back tracks the pink bag and finds the girl who lives in a very posh area. He drops the ring tied to a walkman that was thrown by the girl earlier, into the pram of her cousin. The girl who was missing that ring feels happy and the boy had a message recorded in that walkman.

(Director wants to establish love and affection need not always be romantic but of helpful nature too.)


2.  Kaaka Kadi
    This part of the story is about a Meme creator Mukhilan (Manikandan) who is a software Engineer and a girl Madhu (Nivedhithaa Sathish) who is a costume designer. Mukhil is engaged to a girl when he is diagnosed with cancer.  A coat designed by madhu is seen with Mukhil when they both share a cab.  Madhu starts noticing him being sad and also a well known meme creator.  Mukhil learns about a crow pet that Madhu has and get surprised by it.  That crow was once helped by madhu and that crow returns favour by presenting one shiny object every day.  Madhu learns that Mukhil has cancer and she supports him and is by side during his battle.  This helps them unite and love blossoms between them irrespective of the Chemo Mukhil underwent.

(Director shows that true love doesnt have any hurdles or conditions apply.  It is just heartfelt)

3.  Turtle
   This part of the story is about two people in their Old age.  One is Navaneedhan(Kravmag Sreeram) a Widower and the other is Yashodha(Leela Samson) an old age spinster.  They both live in the same area when Navaneedhan sees Yaso playing on  a slideboard through Binoculars.  He meets her at hospital canteen when both of them go for a health check up.  There Yaso invites everyone for turtle walk and only Navaneedhan turns up.  They both talk about their past during that turtle walk and develop  a liking.  Yasodha invites Navaneedhan to a park and while getting ready to meet him, she slips and becomes sick.  Navaneedhan searches her in the locality but couldnt find her.  Then with the help of an Auto driver, he meets Yaso and proposes her saying that they both can take care of each other to which she accepts and he carries her to his house.

(This part of the story shows that Love has no age and it is eternal and unconditional.  It can blossom to anyone anytime)

4. Hey Ammu
     In this part a family of five, Husband Dhanapal(Samuthirakani), Wife Amudhini(Sunaina) and three kids.  Its a story of a family in their middle ages.  Dhanapal is focused on his work and doesnt listen to his wife who is super smart.  One day arguments grow as Amudhini gets irritated with the behaviour of Dhanapal.  She stops talking to him and he is trying hard to patch up.  He presents a Smart speaker to her as a wedding day gift.  She names it as Ammu and talks to the speaker everyday and feels it as  a friend.  Once when Kids and Amudhini were out, Speaker plays what Amudhini spoke.  Listening to this, Dhanapal tries to correct his mistakes and address the complaints that Amuthini had and live a happy life with his wife ever after.

(It shows the normal ups and downs of life and all it takes is proper communication to ride the boat amongst all storms.)



The screenplay and the feel of the movie is fantastic. Great work done by the director as she made the audience feel what she wanted to convey rather using words or dialogues. Kudos

     Movie begins with DQ(Siddarth) and Rakshan(Kaleeswaramoorthy alias Kallis) being shown as go lucky happy youngsters.  They dont bother about anything other than being happy.  Claiming to be App developer and Animator, they are not seen doing that work anywhere. On the other hand Sid is heads over heels on Meera who visits an Old lady who stays opposite to Sid's house.   Next day when Sid and Kallis were travelling in their car, Meera accidentally hits their car.  Sid offers her help and drops her at her office while Kallis attends Meera's bike and while handing her bike by evening, Sid Proposes Meera.  Meanwhile Kallis falls for a girl riding Royal Enfield whom he met at signal.  Next day while meeting at a park, Meera accepts Sid and  the 4 of them starts to hangout.

(the director has given a smooth start to the movie portraying a beautiful love story between a brat and a calm girl)

     While they spend their time happily, suddenly Sid realizes that he is going out of money and feels the importance of doing a project again.  Sid and Kallis starts to do online shopping and order a lot of  Electronic gadgets under different names and address.  They order everything by Cash on Delivery and receive the product near the mentioned address by tricking the delivery boy.  They immediately go home and remove the original spares of the materials and replace them with used and substandard ones and return the product to the company citing silly reasons.

(this part of the story shows that the Protagonists are a team of 2 thieves and they do white collar theft.  director has shown us that these boys went broke and hence decides to do a project, but he didn't tell us from where the money came that they used to buy these costly gadgets through cash on delivery.)


On the Other hand Gautham Vasudev Menon(DCP Prathapan) is shown as a strict and gutsy police officer who wards off his attackers.  The laptop that he bought recently burst and his daughter just escaped without injuring herself.  On checking with a service engineer it is found that the spare parts where old.  On tracking back with the seller, he learns that it is an organised crime that even the sellers were not aware of.

(here the director introduces the so called antagonist who is a strict police officer and also the one who comes in line with the Protagonists. Also since he is a victim of this crime personally, he will now take more interest in this case)  

Next the protagonists plan on stealing materials from car using technology to open the lock. 
Prathapans friend calls him and say that his confidential Laptop is stolen, when they check for online selling,they find this laptop and contacts Sid and fixes an appoitment, smelling this, Sid and Kallis escapes.  They decide to start a business when Shreya says that she is leaving abroad for a job.  They all go to Goa in a plan to start a business and enjoy themselves for  a week while seeing for a place to start business.  Meanwhile DCP tracks these boys and try to arrest them in Goa and finds only boys were at the house and the girls were missing. This is a big shock to the boys as they also find the 40L money missing.

(the intermission scene shows that the police were actually behind the girls who trap men and cheat them, statistically the Protagonists were 9th such victim. the brilliance of the director is seen here as the audience didnt get any suspect on the girls till the moment it was revealed that they were the actual bigger thieves) 

With embarrassment the boys were trying hard to return home, the do a trick and get some money from ATM and then decide on tracking these girl.   With his cheating instincts Sid devices a plan and finds Meera.  While talking to them they find their actual name is Madhumitha and Varsha.  Sid and Kallis explains that they are there to join hands and steal and for the love they have on these girls.  All 4 join together and device a plan. DCP himself devices a different strategy and finds the location of girls.  The 4 of us decide on their target and how to get the money looted.

(we are said that the 4 are going to work in tandem and the loot is going to be of different level.  Lots of Technological aspects has been used and hence every part of the theft from persuading the businessman to using the car through a phone on auto drive mode were simply amazing.)

Within in a blink of an eye, all 4 escapes from the location and try to flee the country before its too late.  While travelling towards the exit of the city, they find DCP doing vehicle check.  Now they device another plan and send the girls on bike with money to a location and these two went on foot and confused the DCP about the whereabouts of  those girls.  While returning to the girls, the boys play a small prank which adds little more interest in the movie of twists and turns.  Later at an enquiry, it is revealed that shamefully the DCP has also been cheated by the girls in Kerala.  The 4 of them enter Manipur on their way to Thailand by road where the Original name of Varsha is Thenmozhi. 

(the 4  of them planned a great loot and escape plan which they execute really well and flee from the country)

(the director has studied a lot about the technologies and the screenplay was really quick which made us glued to the seat.  from the detailing of the movie, it is seen that the director is a  big fan of Rajini as he used 2.0 toys, few dialogues from Thalapathy movie etc)
